Land Acknowledgement

HERizon acknowledges the beautiful, sacred, and resourceful land we are grateful to reside on. Operating on Treaty 6 territory, and serving people from Treaty 7 and 8 as well, makes us reflect in humility that we are all Treaty people and we respect, honour, and give thanks to our ancestors and all the lands we touch. Building connection and community with people from across all Treaty lands, offers HERizon the opportunity to support community in unique ways. Métis founded, HERizon is rooted in decolonizing the ways in which we offer services. Based on client values, HERizon incorporates traditional healing, medicine, land-based techniques, and Elder connections in our work together.

Services

Through HERizon's three unique program areas, clients can access a variety of professional services for each stage of healing.

Heal: Stage 1

HEAL includes mental health services, holistic trauma healing, and reconnecting to the self. This healing stage is incredibly important and can be as short/long-term as the client requires.

Empower: Stage 2

EMPOWER includes building one back up! Empowerment at its finest. Connecting to ones values and beliefs through support groups, culture, faith, education, etc. Uniquely curated to reflect individual needs.

Revitalize: Stage 3

REVITALIZE includes long-term services dedicated to living a sustainable life, including  life and mindset coaching, employment services, community engagement, and mentorship connections.

Supporting Indigenous Survivors

SOAR (Singing Our Absolute Revival)

This program has been designed and created to support Indigenous victims of intimate partner violence, sexual exploitation and sex trafficking. SOAR Navigators support victims/survivors to navigate the justice system, connect with community, access healing through culture and specialized mental health services.
SOAR is an Indigenous-led, survivor-centered, culturally responsive program. The project is dedicated to ensuring that clients receive equitable supports throughout systemic engagement, interventions, and programs as needed. The healing journey is unique, challenging, and requires long term supports.  SOAR Navigators enhance clients' capacity to heal and maintain healthy lifestyles through justice, empowerment, cultural connectivity, and defining their unique version of lifestyle harmony, safety, and joy.

ABOUT

HERizon

HERizon Healing Society is the product of determined women; each with a strong moral compass for serving those who have experienced violence, deception, manipulation and psychological harm as a result of intimate partner violence, exploitation and abuse. Our aligning beliefs and values have brought us together to support those who need care and compassion.

We believe in genuine respect and dignity for all. We value all persons and the beautiful things that make them unique, special, and wonderful.

Like many incredible ideas, HERizon was first conceptualized during a shared meal. Inspired by each others unique strengths, passion for healing, and drive for safer communities for women and girls, the dream became a vision and an opportunity worth fighting for.

Our team is committed to revitalizing hope, relationships, empowerment, independence, and personal success.

HERizon has been built by community FOR community.

Our services are free, our products benefit our clients, and our partnerships with community are vital!

We look forward to working with you.
